WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

PRELUDE              Come, Labor On                                                                 John Ferguson

GATHERING PRAYER AND THE LORD’S PRAYER                              Steve Byko
God of all creation, God of here and now,
we once more open our hearts and minds
to seek wisdom for living,
courage for choosing,
strength for following.
We trust in your forgiving love that holds us in grace,
even when we sometimes miss the mark,
knowingly or unknowingly,
or when we lose patience with where we are.
Stir in us today and awaken us,
so that no matter the challenges or burdens of this time,
we might remain committed to traveling together,
faithfully and lovingly.
This we ask in Christ’s name and spirit, as we also pray together:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH
            Joys & Concerns, Pastoral Prayer

THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION
You are invited to participate where you are by using elements you have at hand, whether they are like the Communion bread and grape juice we use in church or something else that, when prayerfully taken, can represent the meaning of sharing  this sacrament:  remembering the life of Christ and taking into ourselves his spirit, his love, and our call to be his risen body in the world.

         Words of Invitation

         Prayer of Preparation

         Sharing the Elementsa
         Prayer of Thanksgiving

We give thanks to you, Gracious Spirit,
for the gifts of your table,
reminders of the blessings of all creation
and of all that makes us one.
As we strive to live in this world as people of the gospel,
we pray that today and tomorrow,
we might learn to see the world through Christ’s eyes
and love the world with Christ’s heart.  Amen.

HYMN                           One Bread, One Body

Refrain:  One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
One cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many, throughout the earth,
We are one body in this one Lord.

Gentile or Jew, servant or free,
                      woman or man no more….

                                   Refrain

Many the gifts many the works,
one in the Lord of all …

                                   Refrain

Grain for the fields, scattered and grown,
                     gathered to one, for all….

                                  Refrain
